About Nastase Photography

Gary grew up in southern California, attending drag races as a teenager at Pomona, Orange County International Raceway, Irwindale Raceway, and Ontario Motor Speedway. From his first time at a drag race he was hooked. 2016 will be his 35th year photographing drag racing. In addition to drag racing, Gary has more than two decades of experience shooting NASCAR events across the country. He has been called upon frequently to cover racing events by clients that include several fortune 500 companies. Gary’s images are regularly used for national advertising campaigns, public relations firms, corporate sponsors, specialty manufacturers, and race teams. His images have appeared in publications that include Hot Rod Magazine, Car Craft, Motor Trend, NASCAR Illustrated, Drag Racer, Speedway Illustrated, National Dragster, USA Today,Drag Racing Action, and Drag Illustrated magazines.

Gary has built his business on quality, trustworthiness, and professionalism in every aspect of the services he provides. He has forged and continues to maintain professional relationships with corporate clients and major race teams. Gary’s reputation for integrity, honesty, and on-time delivery of products and services comes from long-term relationships with clients, some extending more than two decades.

Gary’s capabilities reach well beyond providing on-track action shots, as he provides behind-the-scenes imagery of crew chiefs and crew members working at a frenetic pace to rebuild and prepare professional team’s cars between rounds on race day. As a result of the trust he has built with many of the series’ top race teams, he is afforded access to generally “off-limits” areas that others are denied, enabling him to capture the human element of the racing business. During the course of race events, Gary routinely covers race team hospitality functions and racer and VIP interactions both at the track and offsite.
